St. Catherine of Siena School Frequently Asked Questions

Is St. Catherine School accredited?  

 Yes.  After an intensive evaluation, St. Catherine School was fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Our accreditation requires an on-going evaluation process whereby we are reevaluated frequently.
 

What are the school hours and is there after school care?

The earliest arrival for students is 7:20 a.m. The first bell is at 7:35 a.m., the second bell and morning prayer is at 7:45 a.m., and classes begin at 7:45 a.m.  

Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. and PK- 3 and PK-4 students will be dismissed at 1:50 p.m. If your child has an older sibling, they may wait inside and leave with them at 2:15 p.m.. Grades 1st through 6th are dismissed at 2:15 p.m. After Care, which is staffed by St. Catherine School staff, is available on premises until 5:30 p.m. 
 

Does St. Catherine School require a uniform? 

 Yes.  Uniforms are required for all students.  There are 3 levels of uniforms: PK-3 and PK-4, Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and 4th through 6th grade.  Therefore, the typical uniform varies by age group.  Formal uniforms are worn on days when the school attends church and other special occasions throughout the school year. There is also a gym uniform worn on gym day.  
 

Does St. Catherine School offer sacrament preparation for students?  

Yes.  2nd grade students are prepared for Reconciliation and 3rd grade students are prepared for First Communion and Confirmation as part of the Religion curriculum.  The immediate preparation for the reception of the sacraments is the responsibility of the parish to which you belong.
 

Does St. Catherine School have an athletic program?  

Yes.  The school participates in boys and girls basketball and cross country running.  There is also a cheerleading team, hockey team, and ski club.
 

What are the extra-curricular activities? 

 Yes.  In addition to our athletic programs, students can participate in drama club, chorus, band, Lego league, and a number of other prayer services and holiday events that are presented during the school year.
 

Who makes up the student population at St. Catherine School?  

Our school consists of students in PK-3 through 6th grade from the greater Manchester area and many surrounding communities including Auburn, Bedford, Candia, Deerfield, Hooksett, Goffstown, Merrimack, Raymond, and Weare… and as far as Danville, Loudon, Northwood, Nottingham, and Webster.
 

Do you offer a hot lunch and milk program? 

Yes.  A sample lunch menu can be found on our website and milk can be ordered separately.
 

Do you offer a summer program?  

Yes, Camp Siena Summer Program is available for our registered students during summer vacation for an additional charge.  The camp is staffed by St. Catherine School staff and has a variety of daily activities for campers (i.e. arts & crafts, outside games, and field trips).
 

Where do students go after 6th grade?  

St. Catherine School students excel at St. Joseph Regional Junior High School, Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School, Holy Family Academy, as well as other area junior high schools.
