March 5th, 2021
We are at that time of year when we begin to think about our summer schedule. St. Catherine of Siena School will once again offer our summer program, Camp Siena.
This program, run by our faculty and staff, is open to all new enrolled and re-registered students of St. Catherine’s going into Pre-K4 and up. Students going into Pre-K3 are not eligible for camp. Camp Siena begins Monday, June 21 and runs through Friday, August 13. Our hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Your child may be dropped off and picked up anytime during that time frame.
We are considering the return of the Tuesday field trip to Lake Sunapee since the group remains together and is outside; a final decision on that will be made by the beginning of June. Please be aware that should we move forward with that, children must be five years of age to ride the bus. It seems premature to bring back the Thursday field trips to museums, etc., but again, we will see how it goes over the next few months and are looking into guest presentations for the kids here at school.
Ice cream Wednesday will return and we will continue to have themed weeks. The children soak up the sun on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at school and cool off in our pools and sprinklers. Bathing suits and sunscreen are a must!
As we get closer, we will be in touch with the specifics of Covid protocols.
If you would like your child to attend Camp Siena, please fill out the attached registration form with the selected days or weeks of attendance and return to the office by May 7, 2021. Once we have received your registration form, we will bill you the $100 registration fee and first week’s tuition through your Family Portal. Tuition will be billed weekly through Family Portal, and field trips will be paid in cash as they occur.
Please call the school office with any questions at 622-1711. We hope you will join us for a summer of fun!
IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING CAMP SIENA May 28th, 2020:
After much discussion with the state and Catholic Schools Office, we have decided to run Camp Siena following suggested guidelines.
Camp is open to students registered for the 2020-21 school year and will begin, as originally planned, on June 22.
Mrs. Anctil is returning as our camp director, and she and I are working to fine tune the day to day protocol, which we will share soon with those signed up for camp.
A few things we will have in place:
We are capping the camp at 80 students (first come, first served) and will space students in groups of 12.
At least initially, there will be no field trips; we will reassess whether we can make these happen safely as the summer goes on and things open up.
Morning drop-off will take place outside the back entrance and each child’s temperature will be taken before they enter the building; if any student or staff member registers a temperature of 100.4 or higher (this is the CDC guideline) they will not be permitted in the building. If any child spikes a temperature of 100.4 or higher during the day, they will be removed to a separate area and must be picked up immediately.
Bathrooms will be cleaned twice a day, tables etc. will be wiped down after each use, and pools will be disinfected after each use. We plan to be hyper-vigilant with cleaning and disinfecting.
As I said, more details will be forthcoming on new protocols, but I wanted to let you know that camp is taking place so you can make plans.
To register use the form below, it can either be sent via snail mail or scanned and emailed.
We will bill you through Renweb, so please do not send a check.
