Academics at St. Catherine of Siena School

A St. Catherine’s education aims to develop the whole person. Teachers foster an age-appropriate sense of excellence and ownership of one’s own learning. We believe in mastery of foundational skills, particularly in the areas of literacy, writing, mathematics and scientific inquiry, and use technology sparingly and with a targeted academic purpose.

Early Childhood

Our Early Childhood program focuses on social development and foundational learning, incorporating movement, play and outdoor time to support our students’ developmental needs. We offer separate PreK programs for three and four year olds, and Kindergarten for five year olds.

Elementary

Our elementary education offers a structured and engaging curriculum, building upon the foundational skills acquired in Early Childhood. Students in grades one through three learn in self-contained classrooms; students in grade four are introduced to switching classes, alternating for science and social studies; students in grades five and six rotate through classrooms and teachers for science, math, social studies and language arts, acquiring the executive functioning skills needed to successfully navigate junior high school and beyond.

“Since my two boys have started at St. Catherine's, not only have they been given the opportunity for superior education, they have both grown exponentially in their faith and their relationship with God. I can't express my gratitude for the level of support SCS offers to their students and families enough, and I am eternally grateful we made the choice to join the school and parish community.”

— Lauren Paradis

“St. Catherine of Siena school is dedicated to every aspect of Catholic education. The focus is not just on academics and extracurriculars, but a deep-rooted desire to partner with families to ensure the success of the students on a much deeper and personal level. I have watched our children and our family as a whole grow exponentially over the last eight years because of the principal, faculty, and staff at St. Catherine of Siena school.”
