We will work again this year with a 3rd grade and a 4th grade to make simple crafts and send encouraging greetings to two nursing-home-bound women. Students have enjoyed this in the past and feedback tells us that the recipients have been thrilled. The students' beautiful creations are often displayed so that others at the nursing home may also enjoy them. In keeping with the theme of gardening and new life, students last Spring made simple but colorful "flowers" for the patients' enjoyment
(We thank the second grades for the idea and Mrs. Skoglund for her artistic talent and assistance.)
We note that "a commitment to serve others" is an important component of our school's Mission Statement and participation with the nursing home is part of this commitment.

New last year was the introduction of a 4-time after school "Story Time and Craft" for students (limited to 10) in grades 1 and 2. We concentrated on
Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter.
It is our plan to continue again this year.
We thank Mrs. Aida Jacques and Mrs. Skoglund for their talents and assistance with these projects.

Although our annual Book Fair in March seems a long way off, it is our intention to do it again this year much to the delight of our students and their families. Many more details to come.
