The Month of  December in KB

Dear Families,
Our Kindergarten classroom is "Jolly" to be jumping right into the month of December!  This month is going to be filled with all kinds of fun and exciting learning activities.  We will be learning about Advent, Saint Nicholas, The History of Christmas and Christmas Traditions.  We also will be learning about the story of the Gingerbread man "Run, run, run as fast as you can you can't catch me I am the Gingerbread man!    

Our Nancy Larson Science program has some fun filled activities for us to complete this month. Which include finishing up our Senses booklet, and then we will be diving into Learning about the Characteristics of animals and our pets.

In our Go-Math program we will continue to work on the number 1 to 10.  We also will start to introduce 

We  also will be introducing our fourth Chicken Soup for Rice poem.  Ask your child to recite the one we learned in November they are great at it!  We finished our time with our Cat in the Hat  for the month of November .  The children all seemed to really enjoy their time with the Cat in the Hat!  Our new classroom pet will be introduced on December 4th be sure to ask your child who it is!

We are entering the Blessed Season of Advent.  We will be celebrating Advent Each Friday for the month of December as a school. 

This month in Religon the children will be learning about Advent and this wonderful Christmas Season.

Fun Science Fact 
We have Five senses that we use in every part of our day.  It is very difficult  to go even a minute  without using one of them.  Give it a try! 

Special Schedule
Monday: Mass and Library
Tuesday: Music and Gym
Wednesday: Spanish
Thursday: Computers
Friday: Art

*Mass will be held each Monday, please be sure to have your child dressed in their Church Uniform
Girls: Jumper/White Shirt
Boys: Pants/ White shirt/tie

Important Dates

December 6th:  Saint Nicholas Celebration.
  We will be making a donation to The Holy Cross Family Learning Center.  We ask for everyone to donate at least $1.00 dollar and we will receive a dress down day.

December 12th:  Our Christmas Concert will be held at 11:00 am in our school Gym.  

December 20th- January 2nd: Christmas Holiday Break.  Enjoy your Family time.  this is such a wonderful time of year.  I am sure Santa will be good to all of you!

We had a great time with our Fire Department Visit. The children all really enjoyed seeing the Firetrucks and Learning all about Fire Safety.  A big Thank you to the Manchester Rescue One Fire Squad!

Homework Books
  Homework books will continue to go home each Monday.  Please be sure to use pencil and review proper pencil grip with your children.  The homework books are due back on Friday.

Parent Reminders

The chilly mornings are here please be sure your child has a Jacket and Hat each and every day. they will need both these items in order to participate in outdoor recess.

Don't forget to read the School Newsletter from Mrs. Bergeron. This is sent out weekly with upcoming information on our school.

Please be sure to return your child's folder each and every day. Also if you are sending in any notes or information for Mrs. DeTone please be sure to place them in your child's folder. This is emptied each morning.

If your child's behavior calendar comes home blank don't be alarmed it just means we were having too much fun and they are on Green :)

If arriving after 7:40 please enter through the Main doors and check in with the Office.
