Summer Fun in KB

Dear Families,

Our Kindergarten classroom  is       officially on summer break! We had an amazing school year filled with lots of  fabulous memories.

I will be enjoying some summer fun with my family.  I have a few baseball trips planned as well as some beach trips!

I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I will see you in the Fall.

Mrs. De Tone

Don’t Forget to……

this Summer!

Congratulations to the Graduating Kindergarten Class of 2018!

The Dr. Seuss Gang is officially on Summer Vacation!  Here are a few fun recipes to try over the Summer months.

Summer Snowballs

2 Boxes of cornstarch

1 Can of shaving cream

Mix together and form into “Snowballs”.

Super Fun!!

Sidewalk Paint

½ Cup water

½ Cup cornstarch

Approximately 12 drops of food coloring

Jar with a lid and paint brushes

Place all ingredients in the jar. Shake the jar until the paint is completely mixed.  Then paint up those driveways!

Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag

2 tablespoons sugar

1 Cup half and half

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup salt (the bigger the granules the better; Kosher or rock salt work best)

Ice cubes (enough to fill each gallon-size bag about half way)

1 Pint size zip lock bag

1 Gallon zip lock bag

Combine sugar, half and half and vanilla extract in the pint-size bag and seal it tightly.  Place the salt and ice in the gallon-sized bag, then place the sealed smaller bag inside as well.  Seal the larger bag.  Now hake the bags until the mixture hardens (about 5 minutes).  Fell the small bag to determine when it’s done.  Take the smaller bag out of the larger one, add mix-ins, and eat the ice cream right out of the bag!

Summer Prayer

As I begin the summer months,
gracious and loving Jesus,
remind me of Your ever present
guidance and love.
Give me confidence in Your presence,
remembering all that I have been
taught this year and let me
live it in my summer experiences.
As i work, play and enjoy
my family and friends this summer,
may I feel Your love within me,
guiding me toward all
that is right and just.
Let me be grateful for the gift
of summer, Jesus.  Allow me
to enjoy it safely and remind
me daily of You love for me.

Need something to do with all those special little things your child finds on Vacation give this a try!

1 Mason jar

A few vacation items

Kids always see to collect little tiny things on vacation.  This project gives those little collections a special place to stay.  Fill the jar with all their special little things and label it with the date and place of vacation.

Great way to save memories!
